Margaret Island Open Air Theatre

EVITA, the joint production of the Margaret Island Theatre and the Győr National Theatre in 2024, is back on the air!
The play's first Hungarian premiere was in 1980 at the Margaret Island Open Air Stage. The musical has been performed in our theater several times since then, returning last summer and, by popular demand, being performed in the 2025 season. Thanks to the play's eternal values and powerful music, it is one of the greatest classics of musicals.

Margaret Island
Margaret Island provides a peaceful hideaway from hectic downtown Budapest with large green areas, flowery gardens, old trees, and lots of entertainment.
The festival program on Margaret island is rich and diverse: concerts, musicals, dance shows, theatrical performances for children and adults, comedies at three venues:
- Open-Air Theater in Városmajor (Buda) – venue for many children programs
- the Open-Air Theater on Margaret Island (trams 4 and 6, Margitsziget stop) and
- the Water Tower on Margaret Island.
