A magnificent program in solo-symphonic harmony of opposites: two piano concertos by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, two serenades by Antonín Dvořák - and yet both pairs of works could hardly be more different. Mozart's A major concerto KV 488 is one of his most intimate, balanced pieces of the genre, chamber music simplicity, grace and nobility reign. The concerto K 466 represents a breakthrough in many respects. It is the first example of a symphonic piano concerto with large, independent orchestral passages: the solo piano temporarily takes a back seat and supports the development of other instrument groups. The two Dvořák serenades are also complementary, one only for strings, the other (almost) only exclusively for wind instruments. Of course, Sir András Schiff and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe also form a splendid combination: an autumn gold prelude entirely in the spirit of exhilarating, communal music-making

Extasy

The HERBSTGOLD - Festival 2025 invites you to experience music in its deepest and most moving form. Under the motto “Extasy”, we dedicate ourselves to those moments in which music takes us beyond the everyday - into a state of intense devotion in which sounds, emotions and interpretation merge into an inseparable unity.

Ecstasy in music means the complete penetration of a work - for the performers as well as for the audience. These are the moments when a note resonates and time seems to stand still for a moment. When passion, virtuosity and expressiveness build a bridge between art and soul.

Experience renowned artists, extraordinary programs and inspiring encounters in the special ambience of Esterházy Palace. Let yourself be carried away by the power of music - to a festival that is entirely dedicated to the search for the sublime
