Jonas Kaufmann Stars in the Opera Gala of the 72nd Puccini Festival 2026

On Wednesday, July 22, 2026, the Gran Teatro all’Aperto Giacomo Puccini in Torre del Lago will welcome one of the most beloved and acclaimed voices on the world opera scene: Jonas Kaufmann. The celebrated German tenor will be the star of a grand Opera Gala entirely dedicated to the genius of Giacomo Puccini, as part of the 72nd Puccini Festival.

With the gala “Jonas Kaufmann in Tribute to Puccini,” the artist renews his bond with the prestigious Torre del Lago stage, after receiving the 45th Puccini Award in 2015, granted for his extraordinary career and his memorable interpretations of the Maestro’s works.

Joining him on stage will be the outstanding Maria Agresta, an internationally renowned soprano whose elegant and powerful voice will enrich an evening designed to celebrate the greatness of Puccini.

The audience will experience a truly unique night, immersed in the most famous and beloved Puccini arias, performed by two of today’s greatest opera stars, accompanied by the Orchestra of the Puccini Festival.

An exceptional tribute to the immortal composer whose music continues, every summer, to resonate along the shores of Lake Massaciuccoli.
