A procession in Venice
At the time of Vivaldi, Venice sparkled during its processions, combining popular songs and ancient polyphony. A true master when it comes to bringing ancient worlds to life, Vincent Dumestre recreates the atmosphere of one of these ceremonies, where fervour and contemplation come together. The programme culminates with the Nisi Dominus, the Red Priest’s masterpiece, performed by the brilliant mezzo-soprano Eva Zaïcik.
