Shrek, a Musical – Based on the DreamWorks Animation film and the book by William Steig
A grumpy yet lovable ogre and a princess locked in a tower – it’s hard to imagine a more fairy-tale beginning. Especially since their rocky road to each other is constantly crossed by the heroes of our childhood. From Pinocchio to Egg Toby, from Little Red Riding Hood to Tinkerbell. After all, it would be foolish to think, dear contemporaries, that Shrek is a show only for children. With this pretext, we speak of heroism, sacrifice, renunciation, loneliness, exclusion, and the love, victory, and gratitude waiting at the end of the road. It’s not a shame if a tear falls before we all whistle the main songs with the actors.
A joint outdoor production by the József Attila Theatre and the Margaret Island Theatre.
The original Broadway production creators are DreamWorks Theatricals and Neal Street Productions.
The song "I’m A Believer" is written by Neil Diamond.
