For his grand return to the Festival following his 2012 recital, pianist Pierre-Laurent Aimard has generously agreed to give two concerts at the Conservatoire Darius Milhaud, beginning with a programme based around the first performance in France of …selig ist…, a work by French composer Mark Andre (born in 1964) premiered by Aimard in Donaueschingen in 2024. Music of vanishing, of the intangible and of disappearance—that of a friend's child—…selig ist…will be paired with several pieces by Mozart and Bach, whose classicism and contrapuntal rigour represent another form of modesty.
