Fizzing with wit, mischief and flirtation, Rossini’s comedy charms and surprises.
A wife in search of romance and a writer in search of a plot: it’s a recipe for an uproarious tangle of mistaken identities, intrigues, breaks-ups and make-ups. Rossini’s irrepressible farce returns in Mariame Clément’s stylish five-star staging.
Vincenzo Milletarì will conduct the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
Rodion Pogossov returns as Don Geronio, joined by Minghao Liu as Narciso, Elena Villalón as Fiorilla, Péter Kálmán as Selim, Anle Gou as Albazar and Matteo Mancini as Prosdocimo.
A revival of the 2021 Festival production. Sung in Italian with English supertitles.

Glyndebourne
Glyndebourne’s founders, John Christie and wife Audrey Mildmay, opened the first Festival here in 1934. Today our world-renowned auditorium and standards of excellence are testament to John’s original ethos: Not just the best we can do but the best that can be done anywhere.
In the years that followed, Glyndebourne continued to be headed by the Christie family, George Christie following in 1962 and then his son Gus, now Executive Chairman, in 2000.
